You don't need another training plan. A late finish, a tired evening, something that took priority - these are the moments where good intentions quietly slip. Half Nine asks every evening whether the session happened.
Half Nine began as three nightly questions to help its founder stay honest while training for a marathon.

The most useful workout question is specific and answerable by 9:30pm. "Did I do the session I had planned today?" is the kind of question that works - it has a clear yes or no and accounts for the fact that not every day should be a training day.
You decide what counts. A run, a gym session, a swim, a home workout - whatever your plan calls for. Half Nine asks whether it happened and records your answer. It does not evaluate the session, track your performance or suggest what you should be doing.
How the check-in works
At 9:30pm, your questions arrive in WhatsApp. You reply yes or no. On days where context matters - an injury, a schedule change, a session that went differently than planned - you can add a short note. On most days you will not need to.
Every Sunday evening, a summary arrives in the same conversation. Your workout hit rate for the week and any notes you added. No login required.
Half Nine sits alongside whatever training plan or programme you already follow. It does not prescribe sessions, track your performance or tell you how to train.
Missed sessions, honest nos and rest days
Replying No is not a failure. It is an honest answer, and it is more useful than not replying at all.
A planned rest day and a skipped session both produce a No unless you word your question to account for it. Some people use something like "Did I do the training I had planned, or take a scheduled rest?" Others track rest days as a separate habit. Either way, the record reflects what you told it.
There are no red badges or broken-streak mechanics. The weekly summary shows what actually happened. Some weeks that is useful to see. Some weeks it is uncomfortable. Either way it is accurate.
What Half Nine is not
A personal trainer. Half Nine does not design sessions, correct your form or tell you how hard to push. That is between you and your programme.
A workout tracker. It does not log sets, reps, pace or heart rate. If you need performance data, use whatever you already use for that.
A social fitness app. Your answers are private. No one else sees them.
An accountability partner. There is no person on the other end. Half Nine is a structured question that arrives at the same time every evening and records what you say.
